As I get more experienced in my use of the equipment (I won't say "better"), you'll notice that there are more and more notes on the production. Please contact me (hugh at j-views dot com) if you want to know more about my production techniques etc. or even if you think I might be able to help with the production of some of your material

All instruments by me - apologies for the singing on Dead Men's Eyes and Mr. Cheney and Treat Me So Bad and Katrina, etc. (though I actually think I'm getting better - couldn't get worse, anyway).

The "new lap steel" is the one at left - one of Chris Fouke's Industrial Guitars - an Indy Rail with a humbucker if you want to be precise. The 8-string is the one in the middle - a hand-built Supril (since I took the picture I've added a Telecaster chrome knob and a couple of string trees on the center 4 strings to help the tension), and the one on the right is a cheap Musician's Friend offering that started the whole lap steel thing off for me.

I'm typically playing these beasts through a Line6 TonePort UX2, which gives me an amazing variety of sounds and effects (I also use a Roland Microcube for live work):

Details of the Liquid Mix can be found here. The picture below is my friend Mike Kemp, who designed and built the thing, getting his due recognition at Frankfurt.

Not a lot to see here, folks... Move along.

Quite a few things to listen to, though (click on the song title to load the MP3 and some descriptions). The songs are roughly in chronological order, left to right, top to bottom, with the earliest first.
